GR11 – Stage 3 – Wild Camping to Hunters Cabin on the Collado de Urballo
Yet again it rained all night, however this time it did not stop!.. Everything was wet, but I was in good spirit, and looked forward to what the day had to offer.
There was a lot of climbing, but I was feeling fit, and I was pleased with my progress.
There was a diversion on the trail compared to 2016, but it was well marked and easy to follow. I made it to the church in Elondzo, where I filled my water bottles, rested for 10 min. and pushed on. At about 2pm in finally stopped raining. From Elonzo I had another 10km all uphill to my planned camping spot at the hunters cabin.
Just like 2016 it was very hard going, and even though I was completely knackered when I reached the cabin, it was nowhere near as difficult as it was in 2016.
It was still dry when I arrived, I filled up my water bottles at the cabin, and found a nice spot above the cabin to pitch my tent.
