GR11 – Stage 2 – Chapel Ermita de St Anton to Wild Camping
It rained all night, I was so thankful I was dry, and did not have a wet tent to pack up. As luck has it, the rain actually stopped in the early morning.
I had my coffee and breakfast, packed up my gear and left the church at 8:15am. I really enjoyed the 3 hours walk to Bera. At Bera I nipped into the small grocery shop, and got 2 dried sausages, 2 small bars of chocolate and a small bag of jelly sweets. From Bera I continued uphill for 1.20h to the top of Santa Barbara, where I rested and had lunch. From this point I continued to my planned camp spot, the same spot I camped in 2016. I passed a farm where there were dogs chained to stop them from killing anything that moved!!.. I prayed the chains would not break free, and upped my pace to get my distence. I arrived at my spot, only to find the water was not running.. It was completely dry!.. Bummed I had to back track about 1km to the killer dogs and fill my bottles and reserve bladder with water.. Luckily there was a trough a safe distance from the chained dogs.. I then walked back to my planned spot, and settled down for the night.
